Abstract: |
Eliminating Eliminating the selective availability (SA) error by the Department of Defense and availability of Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) signal as a free source of differential correction have resulted in improving the accuracy of low cost GPS receivers. One approach to reduce the cost of automatic guidance system is to use a combination of several low cost GPS receivers along with a collection of some other sensors such as odometers, gyroscopes, sonar sensors, and cameras. Also, an appropriate mathematical technique is needed to combine all these data together. In this paper, we investigated the possibility of combining data from several DGPS receivers to come up with a low cost DGPS that has accuracy level to that obtained from commercially available high-cost DGPS receivers. Several configurations of DGPS receivers were studied and compared through static and dynamic tests. |
